Acting State Director for Colorado
Irene Etsitty, a Colorado Native, has been named as the Colorado Acting State Director. Etsitty has served in many capacities within her 39 years as a public servant. She was hired as a stay in school student and then ultimately became an Information Technology Specialist. In 1997 she became the State Director assistant where she assisted in program management and analysis. She also served in the capacity as Colorado’s Civil Rights Coordinator and Colorado’s Management Control Officer. In 2019, Etsitty became the associate director assigned to Colorado under the USDA Rural Development Business Center, which is a centralized business hub focused on business administration. Etsitty thoroughly enjoys her position with Rural Development and takes pride that she is part of a team that assists in providing excellent customer service and meeting the needs of residents in rural communities. She is married, has one son and a Black Labrador named Lexi. She loves sports, camping and travel.
