Southeastern Technical College Partners with USDA and Others for Workforce Development to Rejuvenate Region's Economy

Today the Department of Agriculture announced an $18,300 grant award to Southeastern Technical College that will be used to purchase equipment for a new Computer Numerical Controller (CNC) laboratory at the Swainsboro campus. Southeastern Tech is adding the CNC Specialist Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) program to meet the local high demand for a technically skilled workforce.

USDA Announces Facility Improvement Grants for Eight Tribal Colleges Including Three Awards in Michigan

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development Under Secretary Lisa Mensah has announced funding to help eight tribal colleges upgrade their infrastructure, purchase equipment and make other improvements to their educational facilities. Funding is provided through USDA’s Tribal College Initiative Grant program. Mensah made the announcement while visiting Northwest Indian College in Whatcom County.

Georgia College & State University Looks to E-Commerce for Expanding Rural Georgia Business Market Share

U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced a $63,000 grant award to Georgia College and State University (GCSU) that will help rural middle Georgia businesses capitalize on e-commerce potential. Funding comes from the Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) program which is designed to support targeted technical assistance, training and other activities leading to the development or expansion of small and emerging private businesses in rural areas.

USDA Partners with North Georgia Technical College to Prepare a Technically Skilled Workforce

   U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced a $97,900 grant award to North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) that will improve ambulance-based safety and technology training for Emergency Medical Services program students. Funding comes from the Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) program which is designed to support targeted technical assistance, training and other activities leading to the development or expansion of small and emerging private businesses in rural areas.

USDA and Community College System of New Hampshire Announce River Valley Community College Expansion to Lebanon

Officials from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Community College System of New Hampshire and U.S. Rep. Ann McLane Kuster Tuesday announced that the former Lebanon College will reopen as a branch of River Valley Community College next year. The Community College System of New Hampshire purchased the Lebanon campus using a $1.6 million USDA Rural Development loan.
