Niobrara Valley Hospital (NVH) is the only hospital located within Boyd County that has served the communities since 1971. NVH is a 20 bed critical access hospital in Lynch, Nebraska, that currently provides physical therapy, respite care, observation stay, acute care, swing bed, emergency room care and specialty clinics.

The hospital had retrofitted and inefficient lighting throughout the facility. All windows were single paned and needed replacement. USDA Rural Development funding of $33,500, along with $27,500 from the NVH Corporation, was used to replace the windows in order to improve energy efficiency. This project supports rural health and energy efficiency initiatives and will improve the overall quality of life in Lynch and the surrounding service areas. It will also help reduce costs spent on energy bills. Overall, the window and facility entry replacement will aid the comfort of the patients.
