USDA Partners with IBT Group USA to Expand Access to High-Speed Internet in DeSoto County

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Florida State Director Lakeisha Hood Moїse announced today that USDA is partnering with IBT Group USA LLC to promote the expansion of high-speed internet in 10 communities across DeSoto County.

“The Biden-Harris Administration and USDA are working to ensure that people, no matter where they live, have access to high-speed internet,” Hood Moїse said. “Reliable high-speed internet brings new opportunities to people in rural America and makes it easier for them to share innovative ideas with the rest of the country.”

USDA Invests in Clean Energy and Affordable Fuels to Strengthen Farms, Small Businesses Across Florida

In honor of Earth Day 2024, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Florida State Director Lakeisha Hood Moїse announced today that USDA is funding clean energy projects to help lower energy bills, expand access to affordable fuels, and create jobs across Florida.

MADISON, Wisc., April 12, 2024 – U.S. Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small visited University of Wisconsin – Madison on Friday, April 12, to highlight the department’s ongoing support for agricultural research and education at UW-Madison and met with students to discuss potential career opportunities available for the next generation of farmers, foresters, conservationists, and entrepreneurs.

The Deputy’s visit included a tour of the D.C. Smith Greenhouse, and meetings with UW-Madison leadership and student groups.

USDA Invests $2.2 Million in Clean Energy to Strengthen Wisconsin Farms and Businesses

STEVENS POINT, Wisc., April 5, 2024 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Wisconsin State Director Julie Lassa today announced that USDA is investing $2.2 million towards 23 renewable energy projects in Wisconsin to lower energy costs, generate new income and create jobs for U.S. farmers, agricultural producers and rural small businesses.
