The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is accepting applications for grants to support energy audits and renewable energy development.

USDA's Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) Energy Audit and Renewable Energy Development Assistance Grants may be used by the recipients to help administer energy efficiency audits or to provide renewable energy development assistance to rural small businesses and agricultural producers.
State, tribal, and local governments; institutions of higher education; rural electric cooperatives; and public power entities are eligible to apply. The application scoring criteria favor large service areas and the ability to assist multiple customers.

Applications must be received by January 31, 2021. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis. We encourage you to start the process immediately if you are interested in applying. Prior to developing an application, contact our office to discuss the proposed project with Jessie Huff, Energy, Coordinator, (503) 414-3314.

Additional information, including the scoring criteria, can be found on page 75284 of the November 25, 2020, Federal Register.
