SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 03, 2023 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) State Director Michele Weaver today announced that USDA is investing $3.7 million in three projects to help build Utah’s rural infrastructure and support a sustainable economy to strengthen rural communities.
“Critical rural infrastructure updates are needed to provide opportunities for economic development and create resiliency.” Weaver said. “These investments represent the continued commitment to promote the quality of life in rural Utah”
Spring City in Sanpete County will use a $3.4 million loan to complete sewer improvements. Currently only two-thirds of the city has access to the sewer collection system. With this funding, sewer lines will be connected to new ones, which will allow most current and future properties to be within 300 feet of the system.
Desert Moon Hotel and Trailer Park, LLC in Grand County will use a $77,040 grant to purchase and install a solar energy system, which is estimated to replace 100% of their energy usage per year.
Superior Farms Lamb, LLC in Juab County will use a $232,046 grant to make energy-efficiency upgrades for ranching equipment. Th
