USDA to Host Listening Session on Nov. 7 to Invite Feedback on Proposed Changes and Updates to the Community Facilities Program

WASHINGTON, Nov. 1, 2023 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will host a listening session on Nov. 7 at 2:00 p.m. ET to invite feedback on key proposed changes and updates to the Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program.

This program provides affordable financing and grants to public bodies, nonprofits, and Federally recognized Tribes to build or improve schools, libraries, hospitals, fire stations and other essential community facilities for people in rural areas.

USDA is requesting the public to comment on how to best:

  • Address potential challenges organizations may face in accessing the program.
  • Improve the program’s application process.
  • Expand program eligibility requirements, and more.

Stakeholders are also invited to submit written comments on these topics to the agency by Dec. 8, 2023. To submit written comments, visit https://www.regulations.gov and search for “Docket No. RHS-23-CF-0023."

For more information, see page 74975 of the Nov. 1 Federal Register.
