USDA Rural Development Puerto Rico Will Participate in the National Rural Lending Investment Summit

San Juan, Puerto Rico, August 30, 2023 – Maximiliano J. Trujillo Ortega, USDA Rural Development State Director for Puerto Rico indicated that USDA is participating in the National Rural Lenders’ roundtable (NRLR) to be held at the Sheraton Convention Center Hotel on August 30th, 2023. The event is a joint initiative of SBA, National Rural Lenders Roundtable and USDA Rural Development.
Maximiliano J. Trujillo- Ortega, USDA Rural Development State Director for Puerto Rico indicated that: “In this event USDA will be making important announcements in housing, ONE RD Lending and business support.” “USDA Rural Development is committed to strengthen the economic development of the Island’s rural areas and reinforces Puerto Rico’s long-term economic prosperity.”
Joaquin Altoro, USDA Rural Development Housing Service Administrator indicated that “When USDA invest in the people who live and works in rural communities, we are supporting hard work that sends a ripple effect across our country,” “Under the leadership of the Biden-Harris Administration, USDA is committed to partnering with lenders to meet the needs of people across Puerto Rico to create jobs, moder infrastructure and support long-term economic stability on their own terms.”
Dr. Kamala Neal indicated that “Through the Biden-Harris Administration, people in rural America provide the everyday essentials our country depends on. That’s why the Biden-Harris Administration and USDA work with lenders and other intermediaries to deploy economic resources like the Business and Industry Loan Guarantee and the Rural Business Development Grant program that create good-paying jobs and expand opportunities for entrepreneurs across Puerto Rico.”
