Rural Development’s $635 thousand Grant will Assist 18 Sites Across 21 Rural North Carolina Counties

LILLINGTON, N.C., December 11, 2023 – Members of North Carolina Rural Development Team announced a USDA Distance Learning Telemedicine Grant with Daymark Recovery Services, at their Lillington location today.

Rural Development is investing $635 thousand through a USDA Distance Learning Telemedicine Grant to improve access and quality of care to patients by better equipping physicians to provide additional and improved telehealth services in the areas of both mental health and substance abuse.

“Today’s investment will help rural North Carolina residents close the distance to receive quality care when it comes to mental health,” said a member of the Rural Development Team. “The Biden-Harris administration is committed to assist Americans have access to the healthcare they need, no matter their location in this country.”

The equipment purchased with this grant will be used in 18 sites across 21 rural North Carolina counties.
