MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.C., February 27, 2021 –Various federal and state officials joined U.S. Department of Agriculture North Carolina Rural Development in a ribbon cutting at Montgomery Central High School today.

The USDA RD is investing $71 million to construct two new school buildings for Montgomery Central High School.

“Montgomery Central High School serves a thriving and diverse student population,” said a representative from North Carolina USDA Rural Development. “These new buildings will facilitate their education with the most up-to-date technology.”

In rural North Carolina, Montgomery County Schools will use a $71 million loan to consolidate the two existing high schools into a new 21 thousand square foot single building, and a new 80 thousand square foot career and technical educational facility. This will house the CTE, early college programs, and performing arts center.
