Crestina M. Martinez is a dynamic professional with deep roots in southern Colorado, where she and her mother proudly uphold the family tradition of raising all-natural, high-altitude, grass-finished beef and hay in historic San Acacio Viejo. A true connector of people, ideas, and resources, Crestina has a knack for innovating within long-standing institutions and excels at building coalitions to drive strategic and systemic change, especially for historically underserved communities.

Her efforts focused on environmental justice, energy equity, community engagement, and Tribal relations.

With over 18 years of experience in public service, Crestina has held various significant positions, including Director of Long Term Recovery and Major Initiatives for Adams County, CO; Senior Advisor to Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Chief of Staff to Colorado Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera; Regional Manager for the Colorado Department of Local Affairs; Government Relations and Partner Outreach for the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing; County and Tribal Liaison for the Colorado Department of Human Services; and serving as Costilla County’s youngest elected County Commissioner.

Crestina holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sociology and Spanish from Colorado College, complemented by certificates from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business.
