Trump Administration Invests Over $985,000 in Rural Health Care in the Upper Midwest

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director for Kansas Lynne Hinrichsen today announced that USDA is investing $985,399 to provide telemedicine software and equipment to ensure equitable health care access at rural, sparsely staffed medical facilities in a seven-state (IA, KS, MN, MT, ND, NE, and WY), 66 county area in the Upper Midwest through the Emergency Telemedicine Project.

USDA Invests Nearly $150,000 to Increase Access to Health Care Training in Eastern Oregon

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is investing nearly $150,000 to increase access to health care training for rural residents in remote and frontier areas of eastern Oregon, announced State Director John Huffman today.

"With the vast geographic distances in this part of the state, it is not always feasible for rural residents to travel to attend classes," said Huffman. "This investment will give those who want to begin a career in health care the ability to access classes remotely, increasing the job opportunities available to them."

ATHENS, Ga., Oct. 7, 2020 – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today announced the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $72 million in grants to help rural residents gain access to health care and educational opportunities. Of this total, $2.8 million is awarded for distance learning and telemedicine expansion in rural Georgia.
