USDA Awards More than $2.2 Million in Grants to Support Montana Agricultural Producers

Bozeman, Mont., Jan. 17, 2024 – In 2023, USDA Rural Development in Montana awarded more than $2.2 million in direct funds to 10 rural small businesses and agricultural producers through its Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG) program, which is designed to help generate new products, create and expand marketing opportunities, and increase overall producer income to grow local economies in rural and Tribal areas. 

USDA Rural Development Announces Funding for American Institute of Building Science

CARSON CITY, Nev., Dec. 12, 2023—U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director Lucas Ingvoldstad today announced that USDA is awarding $100,000 to American Institute of Building Science (AIOBS) through the Rural Energy for America Program Technical Assistance Grant (REAP TAG). As a REAP TAG recipient, AIOBS will identify and provide technical assistance to qualified rural small businesses and agricultural producers to apply for REAP funding, with a focus on retrofitting commercial buildings to become more energy efficient.

RENO, Nev., Nov. 20, 2023 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small announced today that USDA is strengthening its longstanding partnership with the Small Business Administration (SBA) to create jobs and expand access to new and better market opportunities for people in rural America.
