Delta Health Care Services Grant

What does this program do?

The Delta Health Care Services Grant program provides financial assistance to address the continued unmet health needs in the Delta Region. Grants are awarded to promote cooperation among health care professionals, institutions of higher education, research institutions and other entities in the Delta Region. Grants are awarded through a national competition. Each fiscal year, applications are requested through a Notice published in the Federal Register and through an announcement posted on Grants.gov.

Who may apply for this program?

To apply for a grant, you must be a consortium of the following:

  • Regional institutions of higher education
  • Academic health and research institute, and/or
  • Economic development entities located within the Delta Region.

Individuals are not eligible for this program.

How may funds be used?

Grant funds must be used for the development of healthcare services, health education programs, healthcare job training programs, or the development and expansion of public health-related facilities in the Delta region.

What Do I Need to Do Before I Apply?

Registration at SAM.gov is required. You will be issued a UEI upon registration at SAM.gov.

What Do I Need for the Application?

You will find the Notice of Funding Opportunity and details on what is needed for an application on grants.gov and using Funding Opportunity Number: RDBCP-DHCS-2026.

Make sure you start putting together the required information at least a month before the application deadline, because you may need to provide letters of commitment or support from other organizations, a work plan and budget, and other information that might take you some time to assemble. You may also need to fill out required forms.

Will I Need to Send Any Reports if I Receive a Grant?

If you receive a grant, you will need to send regular financial and performance reports.  Your grant agreement will tell you how often you need to send the reports, what forms you need to use, and what information you need to put in the reports.
